Information about the Turkish Informatics Association (TBD)
Türkiye’nin bilişim teknolojileriyle tanışmasının hemen ardından, 1971 yılında “Bilişim Teknikbilimini Ulusal Bir Kalkınma Aracı Olarak Kullanma” vizyonu ile kurulan Türkiye Bilişim Derneği (TBD), bugün toplumun her kesiminden gelen üyeleri eliyle, ülkemizin çağdaş, aydınlık bir “Bilişim Toplumu”na dönüşümünü gerçekleştirmeye çalışmaktadır.
Yaklaşık 10.000 üyesi, 6 şubesi, 13 il temsilciliği ve 33 Üniversitede TBD-Genç örgütlenmesiyle TBD, bilişim sektörünün gelişmesine önemli katkılar vermeye devam etmektedir.
Türkiye Bilişim Derneği’nin bireysel katılımı esas alan yapısı ve gönüllülük temelindeki çalışma biçimiyle ürettiği raporlar, öneriler ve bağımsız söylemleri günümüzde tüm karar vericiler ve toplumun her kesimi tarafından dikkate alınır duruma gelmiştir.
TBD bünyesindeki aktif Çalışma Grupları; Terim Kolu, TBD Kamu-BİB (Türkiye Bilişim Derneği Kamu Bilgi İşlem Merkezi Yöneticileri Birliği), Bilişim Hukuku ÇG, Sosyal Etkinlikler ÇG, TBD Yazılım ÇG, Kobilerde Bilişim ÇG, Görme Engelliler ve Bilişim ÇG, TBD Genç ÇG, e-Oyun ÇG, Sağlık ve Bilişim ÇG, Bilişim Güvenliği ÇG, Bilimkurgu Öykü Yarışması Jürisi ve TBD Yayın Kurulu’dur. Ayrıca, TOBB Meslek Komitelerinde de TBD üyeleri etkin olarak görev yapmaktadır.
TBD, kamu ve özel sektör, akademisyen ve toplumun her kesiminden etkin kullanıcılardan oluşan üye yapısıyla bilişim sektörünün öncü sivil toplum örgütüdür.
Kurulduğu yıldan bugüne derneğimizin hedefi;
Teknoloji üreten bir Türkiye,
Teknolojiyi yaşam kalitesini yükseltme anlamında kullanabilen bir toplum,
Kaynaklarını etkin ve verimli kullanabilen bir devlet yönetimi,
Nitelikli insan gücü,
Uluslararası rekabet edebilir bir üretim sektörüyaratılmasına katkı sağlayarak gururla ve büyük bir onurla bu güzel ülkede her vatandaşımızın yaşamının keyfini çıkarmasıdır.

Turkish Informatics Association (TBD) was established in 1971 just after the introduction of the informatics technologies in Turkey with the vision of ”Using the Technical Science of Informatics as a Tool for Development”. Nowadays, it strives to realise the transformation of our country into an enlightened and modern ”Informatics Community” through its members coming from every social segment.
TBD has made a significant contribution to the enhancement of the informatics sector in our country being well equipped with about 10.000 members, 6 branches, 13 provincial representatives and TBD Youth Organizations in 33 universities.
The reports, proposals and discourses of the Turkish Informatics Association produced in its structure based on individual participation and work style based on volunteering have gained appreciation by all the decision makers and all the segments of the society in our country nowadays.
The following work groups are operating within the body of TBD: Subsection for Terms, TBD Executives Association of the Public Data Processing Centre, Work Group of Informatics Law, Work Group of Social Activities, TBD Work Group of Software, Work Group of Informatics in MSE, Work Group of Visually Handicapped People and Informatics, Work Group of TBD Youth, Work Group of e-Games, Work Group of Health and Informatics, Work Group of Informatics Security, Jury of Science Fiction Stories and TBD Publications Counsel. TBD members are also actively engaged in the Professional Committees in the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB).
TDB is a pioneer non-governmental organization with its member structure comprised of effective users from public and private sectors, academic community and all other segments of the society.
The goals of our association from the very beginning of its foundation have been;
a Turkey that is able to produce technology,
a community that can use the technology to enhance life quality,
a government style which can use the resources of the state in an effective way,
a qualified human power,
giving its best to enable that every citizen in this beautiful country of ours can enjoy the life in the best way possible contributing to the realisation of a production sector that is able to compete on international level,
